It's here, kids. It's here.

Amy and I really think that the unprecedented catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico could push us past the tipping point into permanent energy crisis. Airports likely forced to close, permanently damaged petroleum and natural gas production in the Gulf... it ain't pretty, kids.

We're off to Spain this afternoon for a wedding. We fear it risks being our last long airplane trip...

Can't speak. Too dumbfounded by dumbness.

Online poll on the execrable WABC site today:

Who do you think is to blame for high gas prices?
  • Oil companies ?
  • Gas stations ?
  • China and India ?
  • OPEC ?
  • Environmentalists ?
Unsurprisingly, the plurality winner, at 47%, is environmentalists. Couldn't they have had another answer, like "God, for not endowing the Earth with enough petroleum"?

Also, what on earth causes people to listen to those AM talk-radio blowhards?
